If this sounds like you then we can help – we are the hard water softener specialists in Kent and across the South East. We have many years’ experience in fitting softeners to homes and commercial properties, and we have a large array of systems to view at our showroom in Tonbridge, including Harvey and Hague models. Our friendly team can advise you on what the best system for your home will be, we can also service and maintain any system you choose to have installed and we sell both block and tablet salt.
Limescale caused by hard water can cause damage to washing machines and dishwashers without you knowing, and also to heating systems, preventing them working efficiently. If you would like softer laundry, more luxurious hair and skin, a cleaner bathroom and to save money then pop in to our showroom and talk to us.
How Hard Water Softeners Work
Water softeners are designed to remove calcium and magnesium (the cause of scale and scum) from hard water. They are intended to treat the whole house, so are installed where the water supply enters the premises. Our Machines
Our hard water softeners have tanks to hold the resin which the water supply moves through in order to soften it. When required, hard water softener salt is dissolved for the regenerating brine and one cylinder is regenerated while the other continues to serve softened water. This duplex parallel system is unique to Harvey hard water softeners. It makes regeneration even more efficient in terms of water usage since softened water is more ideal for the regeneration process (it does not contain calcium and magnesium ions that regeneration removes). There are various ways in which hard water softeners determine when to regenerate – some are fitted with a timer and some regenerate after a pre-set volume of hard water has been treated.
Our hard water softeners are effective in:
- Preventing scale in the hot water system and around taps
- Removing existing scale
- Reducing boiler fuel cost and heating system maintenance costs
- Preventing soap scum, which is evident around the bath and sink
- Improving the texture of laundry by preventing detergent scum deposits within the fibres of clothes, bedding, etc.
- Reducing soap and detergent costs.
